For Immediate Release

Helsinki, October 22nd

The Finnish artist Yona, the musical fireworks collective Saimaa, and Ubrave24 — a music project from Ukraine are the inaugural partners in the new Solovey Music initiative. This project aims to bridge the musical cultures of Finland and Ukraine, providing support during Ukraine’s challenging times. Solovey Music endeavors to unite through the transformative power of music by creating fresh interpretations of each nation’s musical traditions — translating Ukrainian songs into Finnish and vice versa.

Additionally, the Solovey Music project is dedicated to preserving and uplifting Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage amid adversity. Proceeds from the initiative will directly benefit Ukrainian cultural creators.

Yona Invites Ukrainian Residents to Celebrate Cultural Unity at Her Album Release Tour

This fall, Solovey Music is extending a special invitation to Ukrainian residents in Finland to join Yona’s album release tour. This tour, celebrating her latest album, Eden, offers a poignant exploration of Finnish emotional expression through music. The Ukrainian Association in Finland is collaborating closely with this initiative, ensuring its integration into the local community.

Yona, expressing her enthusiasm for the project, notes, “This project goes beyond musical collaboration. It forges a deep connection between the emotions and narratives of two nations, while also supporting Ukrainian culture and art during challenging times.”

Advancing Ukraine’s Artistic and Cultural Vitality

The Solovey Music initiative transcends music production and performance, carrying significant social impact. The funds generated from this project are dedicated to bolstering Ukrainian culture.

Led by Solovey Productions Oy and its founder, Mikko-Pekka Hanski, the initiative leverages music’s unique ability to foster hope and connection. Hanski emphasizes, “Music is a powerful vehicle for hope and connection. This initiative actively supports Ukrainian artists and their cultural heritage while intertwining the emotions and narratives of both Finnish and Ukrainian communities.”
